Belimo differential pressure sensors air deliver exceptional measurement accuracy, even at low differential pressures. In air handling units, one key application is the reliable monitoring of filter status, helping to optimise air quality and system efficiency. By measuring pressure before and after the filter, the sensor provides the data needed to detect clogging. This enables timely filter replacement, avoiding premature changes that waste resources and late changes that compromise performance. In addition to existing models (+/-150, 2500, and 7000 Pa), the new 500 Pa version increases flexibility for a broader range of applications.

Enhanced customisable visibility

The optional smart display mounted on top of the device is configurable via Belimo Assistant 2 and offers customisable content and presentation, allowing you to tailor it to your specific needs.

Customisable and multiple outputs

The analogue output signals can be transmitted as voltage or current values. With Belimo Assistant 2, the values can be inverted and freely scaled. The most common units of measurement for pressure and volume flow can be individually adjusted.

  • The measurement range can be easily scaled to the required output signal in the app, such as an output signal from 3 to 9 V.
  • It offers higher flexibility and precision for various applications.
  • User-friendly configuration with Belimo Assistant 2, ensuring ease of use and adaptability.

 

Ease of installation

The cables and terminals are detachable, making installation and maintenance more convenient. 

  • The detachable mounting plate simplifies the installation process by serving as a drill template, ensuring accurate and hassle-free fastening.
  • Mounting plate can be effortlessly mounted on a DIN rail without the need for additional tools, providing flexibility and convenience.
  • No tools are needed to connect the wires. 

 

Easy and fast data point check

For the data point check, the analogue output signals can be temporarily overwritten with an individual value using Belimo Assistant 2. This makes it easy to verify the wiring or to transmit a defined output signal, for example during test runs.

Filter monitoring

Air filters are essential for maintaining clean and healthy indoor air by removing dust, pollen, pathogens, and other particles. As filters become clogged, the pressure drop across them increases due to restricted airflow.

Belimo differential air pressure sensors accurately measure this pressure build-up, helping you determine the optimal time for filter replacement. That way, you know precisely when it’s time to change it — not too early, which would waste resources, and not too late, which could impair air quality and efficiency.

With a high accuracy at low pressures, the DPA sensor is perfectly suited for reliable filter monitoring in HVAC systems.

Fan control

In demand-controlled ventilation systems, airflow is adjusted based on occupancy or indoor air quality to reduce energy consumption while maintaining comfort.

When ventilation demand changes, variable air volume (VAV) units open or close, causing pressure fluctuations in the ductwork. Belimo differential air pressure sensors detect these changes and provide precise feedback to the fan controller, ensuring stable operation and efficient air distribution across zones.

With pressure ranges from 0–500 Pa up to 7,000 Pa, the DPA sensor covers all relevant positions in the duct system, from room-level control to fan monitoring.

Duct pressure monitoring

Duct differential pressure sensors are essential components in air handling units (AHUs) for accurate monitoring and control of airflow and system performance. By measuring the differential pressure along an air flow path, they enable efficient control of air volume and early detection of performance losses. Reliable measurement ensures stable system operation and improved energy efficiency and thus consistent indoor air quality.

High sensor accuracy is crucial for HVAC systems as well as good long-term stability, low drift, fast response, and resistance to environmental influences such as increased temperature and humidity or contamination. Belimo devices also feature digital outputs for easy integration into building management systems (BMS) for enhanced monitoring, control, and self-adjustment functionalities (auto-zero) to ensure consistent performance.

Room pressure control

Differential air pressure sensors are essential components in room air control systems for precise regulation of fresh airflow supply and room ventilation by controlling damper actuators. By measuring the pressure difference in ducts across multiple zones, they enable balanced and efficient distribution of fresh air across rooms.

Reliable differential pressure measurement ensures stable room conditions, optimised ventilation efficiency, and reduced energy consumption. High-performance sensors require excellent accuracy, long-term stability, low drift, and fast response. Digital interfaces are crucial for seamless integration with actuator devices, and into building management systems for effective monitoring, control, and continuous system optimisation.
