Announcement

With Apple's pending iOS update, the NFC-to-device communication will change. While these changes have no impact on the interaction with most of our devices, unfortunately, the NFC connectivity to our Energy Valve (EV) and Thermal Energy Meter (TEM) in the powered-on mode will be impacted. This applies to both the existing Belimo Assistant App as well as the new Belimo Assistant 2 app.

We are taking proactive steps to minimize these disruptions and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of connectivity and usability for our customers. Please refer to the document for details.

  • Is my Belimo field device compatible with Belimo Assistant 2?

    Belimo Assistant 2 is compatible with most of the Belimo product range, i.e., both legacy and NFC-enabled devices.

    Restrictions apply to older products (manufactured before 2006) and special products (e.g., BF-TopLine, VRP-M).

  • Is my phone or laptop supported?

    Belimo Assistant 2 supports most smartphones, tablets, and Windows computers/laptops.

    The following Android, Apple iOS, and Windows versions are supported:

    • Android 9 or later
    • Windows 10 or later
    • iOS 15 or later

    The following devices are not supported:

    • Linux devices
    • Apple MacBooks
  • Which app features work in powered and unpowered modes?

    In powerless mode, the available features are focused on device programming, such as selecting control signals, application setpoints, and communications setup.

    In powered mode, the features are expanded to include operational information such as actuator position, sensor values, and health status, as well as access to powerful and time-saving workflows.

  • If I do not have a physical field device on hand, can I simulate a connection to a virtual field device with Belimo Assistant 2?

    Yes, Demo Mode can simulate a connection to a virtual field device with Belimo Assistant 2 if you do not have a physical field device on hand. Demo Mode allows you to display user interaction and explore the functionalities of the app. It is used for demonstration purposes only. Please note that workflows require a physical device to proceed.

    Note: Demo Mode can be enabled within the app through Settings > General Settings > Demo Mode > On. The Simulate Device button will appear in the Home section.

  • Which languages are supported?

    The app is offered in 7 languages:

    • English (US)
    • German

    • Simplified Chinese

    • Russian

    Note: App language can be adjusted within the app through Settings > General Settings > Language
